Im sorry this is so off the sewing thing but I read this this morning and I had to share it. We are better than this, aren’t we???

I saw this comment on my blog and although I responded to the person I really want to know, Why is this an issue.  Here’s the comment and tell me what you feel.

  1. I noticed all of the pictures you have on here are of black women modeling the garments. I am white. I cannot identify with your totally black pictures. If you want to attract all races, please be courteous and include at least one other race when putting pictures on the site. Thank-You.

I had to leave a comment: this is what I wrote

WTH!!! okay you are much better than me because I don’t think my response would have been so lady like. REALLY!!! REALLY!!! NO REALLY!!! COME ON PEOPLE. First of all, this is your blog, about you, about your life. You are not running for office or trying to gather the masses, you are simply living your life and sharing it with us. If I wanted to plaster my blog with the puertorican flag and only post pictures of my beautiful Latina women I would and so what!!! that’s my life, that’s my heritage and I am not blogging to make other people happy, I blog because it is a freedom of expression and I have the right to blog about whatever suits my fancy. I am SURE that you intention is not to “leave” anyone out. AND HONESTLY I NEVER PAID ANY MIND TO THAT, so obviously the person who did notice must have some kind of a hang-up… girl! you done got me started…LOL

I’ll post pics and projects tomorrow.

My friend Krissy had her daughter 3 days before I had my son, Katlian turns one on friday so I decided instead of buying her something I would make something. Now even though I have a truck load of kids I have not made baby clothes in a long time, it was fun to do. Here is what I made her :)

I just had to tell you that I got a great comment on my blog from the someone at PGM-PRO (I wont say her name because I dont know if she would want me to) the manufacturer of my dress form which I named “Petunia” it was nice to hear how excited they were about my owning one of their dress forms :) and better yet she is sending me some stuff to try out which I will use and give a review on.

So far what I know and can attest to is that they have great customer sevice and the dress forms are REALLY! GREAT! so if you are considering getting a form make sure to buy it from them and tell them I sent you..LOL

Thanks PGM :)

I finished my Vogue 8413 dress so here are my thoughts:

Pattern: V 8413 View D

Fabric: Wine color double knit

Modifications: I changed the placement of the zipper from the center back to the side under the arm, it works much better and it gives a clean finish in the back. I also took out the pleats in the front of the skirt, it gives fullness in the tummy area that I am not fond of :) lol

Likes/Dislikes: The only thing I did not like was the center back zipper so I moved it and took out the pleats in the front because it caused some weird puffiness thing. I  liked the style of the dress and it was really easy to put together.

excuse my panty lines..lol I was not going anywhere so I did not have on the appropriate undergarments :)

Vogue 8196 View A

Pattern: V 8196

Fabric: Linen

Modifications: None.

Likes/Dislikes: I like the pattern I thought it was easy to follow, a lot of hand sewing in the arm bands, the facing for the inside and the collar but overall it was a nice top and I might make it again :)

Well, it’s about time! why is butterick the last to post new patterns ALWAYS!!!, NOT that they are all that great but here are some I will pick up.

OMG!!! you guys are great and love all the great comments you guys leave for me :) Here are pics of me wearing my butterick top (which I love) and a pic pf my current project, can you guess what pattern Im

using????

What pattern is it???

Okay, so I will start with a non-sewing related pic and then on to the pattern reviews :) My hubby was shooting in the desert this past weekend and I got sunburned something awful…lol (click to enlarge)

Butterick 4985

Okay, so I started making this top Butterick 4985 in this eyelet border cotton fabric, I realized as I was cutting it that I wanted the border on the sleeves as well so I cut out the border and added it to the sleeve instead of the band they had instructions for.

Here are pics of that:

Here is the finished top on the dress form, I will take another pic when I wear it :) (click to enlarge)

Comments: This is a super easy top to make, it only took me about 2 hrs and that’s only because I hand finished the neck band and made sure I had a clean inside. I would recommend this top for sure!

Next: Vogue 2981 Shorts

I love these shorts!!! I am going to make several for the summer, they are super easy to make and I like the fly front they used, it was clean and I like that :)

Here I am rocking them with my red top :)

Side Pose..lol

Comments: These shorts were really easy to make and the fly front instructions were easy as pie, I usually dont like the methods they use in the Big 4 so I normally just do it my own way but these were really good :)

And Finally I made a top and pants from the same pattern: Simplicity 2925

This was easy and fast, I did not do the pockets on the top.

Okay, how many times is Janet going to wear a white suit? and can she please button up that shirt a little, the white suit look is hot in general but this time maybe not! and why does Jay from ANTM look like a plastic Ken doll?
